Beyond these additions, the fitness- and health-tracking features work as well as ever, providing accurate and reliable data via the simple interfaces of the Health app. The same pretty much goes for the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, which in contrast to the Apple Watch Series 7, introduces a number of features not previously seen in its line. These include an optical heart rate sensor , an electrical heart sensor , and biological impedance analysis . Together, they enable you to track such things as your sleep, your blood-oxygen level, your blood pressure, and also your body composition (i.e., your body mass index).
The watch also supports over 100 different workouts, meaning Samsung's device is every bit as comprehensive as a fitness tracker as Apple's. If by some chance you get a scratch, you can take it to a jeweler and they will buff it out for you. With aluminum and that garbage titanium, you cannot. I got the series 7 on launch day; it is my first smart watch. After having it for two weeks, I'd say I wish I had gotten the SE when it came out last year instead of waiting all this time for the 7. Blood oxygen sensor and ECG are total gimmicks, so unless you have a legitimate cardiovascular health concern, I'd save a few dollars and go with the SE. Fast charging and the big screen are nice, but I don't think it justifies the increase in price.

The question of upgrading is a stickier, tougher question to be definitive about. Anyone with a Series 3 watch, or earlier, wanting a new watch should upgrade to a Series 7. But, if you have an SE, Series 5 or Series 6 and can hold out another year, I would probably wait. The new screen size is great, and when you are ready to upgrade, it will be there waiting.
I just didn't notice the Series 7's larger screen over my Series 6's as much as I was expecting to. And since there are no new health sensors I can go an extra year without too much FOMO. More text fits on the screen and can be increased to a greater size.

That being said, battery is just as solid as previous apple watches. My wrist is 15cm and I wore the 45mm series 5 for two years.
I liked the screen size but I found the watch just a bit too much for my wrist. I also love the braided loop but I really needed a size 3 band, which only fits the 41mm Watch. I recently bought the series 7 in the 41mm and I find that for me it's a much better fit. Since they reduced the bezels I don't really even notice the difference in screen size.
I would go to a shop and try on both and see which one you like better. The S6 is a great watch, but for the extra $$$, I think the S7 is worth it. The main thing for me is the larger screen, while keeping the dimensions of the watch almost the same. For me, battery life has been better even with AOD on all the time. I'm getting the s7 as my first Apple Watch because why not get the 7 if I don't already have one.

I've always used watches with AirPods, music synced to watch, and heart rate enabled. As I recall, the S6 claimed better battery life while running, so I'm curious if the S7 retains the same. The battery life delta is for my use vase negligible. The 41mm feels like my Goldilocks watch - just right, not outsized and in the way.
